What Roger Wilco Imagery can see today, and how: every data source and method in use, with its coverage and limits. New marks anything added in the last 2 days (0 now). Plans are on the Roadmap; release notes are under Versions.

California Watches — five daily area reportsTesting

Mojave Watch (Edwards, Plant 42 / B-21, China Lake, Fort Irwin, Twentynine Palms, Mojave), San Diego Watch (North Island carriers, 32nd Street, Point Loma submarines, Coronado, Miramar, Camp Pendleton), Central Coast Watch (Vandenberg launch pads and test silos, Point Mugu, Port Hueneme, San Nicolas Island), LA Watch (Space Systems Command, Northrop Space Park, the ports, Seal Beach, Los Alamitos, March) and NorCal Watch (Travis, Beale, Livermore, Moffett, Concord, Lemoore, Sierra Army Depot): military and government flights, landings per site, heat, ships in San Diego Bay and the Port of LA, and a plate for each new clear satellite pass.

Sources adsb.lol daily archive, NASA FIRMS area API, Sentinel-2, aisstream.io

Coverage 33 California sites; one shared West Coast flight scan with Vegas Watch

Limits Flights are the day before; most warships and many fighters do not broadcast; live-fire ranges produce routine heat.

Vegas Watch — daily look at Las Vegas and the Nevada rangesTesting

A daily one-area report (a Watch, not a SITREP) on Nellis, Creech, Groom Lake, Tonopah Test Range, the Nevada National Security Site, Yucca Mountain, the Janet terminal at Harry Reid, Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, with NAS Fallon, Hawthorne Army Depot and Reno ANG for flights: Janet shuttles, military aircraft by country (Red Flag participants), anything near Groom Lake or Tonopah, landings per site, every heat detection in the box and a plate for each new clear satellite pass.

Sources adsb.lol daily archive, NASA FIRMS area API, Sentinel-2

Coverage Southern Nevada box (Las Vegas to Tonopah) for heat and imagery; all of Nevada for flights

Limits Flights are the day before (archive). Fighters on the ranges and most range traffic do not broadcast ADS-B, so the flight picture is partial; live bombing ranges produce heat that is listed, not flagged.

Military and government aircraft over Canadian citiesTesting

RCAF, US and allied/foreign military, state and VIP flights, defence contractors (Top Aces, KF Aerospace, L3Harris and others) and police/RCMP aircraft within 50 km of 18 Canadian city centres and below 15,000 ft, logged about every 5 minutes with a daily summary per city.

Sources adsb.lol live (military feed and per-city queries), Transport Canada civil aircraft register, FAA registry

Coverage Toronto, Montréal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa–Gatineau, Winnipeg, Québec City, Hamilton, Kitchener–Waterloo, London, Halifax, Victoria, Saskatoon, Regina, St. John's, Windsor, Kelowna

Limits Only aircraft broadcasting ADS-B; contractors and police are identified by registered owner, so leased or re-registered aircraft can be missed. Police flights are published in daily summaries, not live.

Fire detections for any area, any dateLive

Every NASA fire satellite (VIIRS on Suomi NPP, NOAA-20 and NOAA-21; MODIS) for any box and any date range, archive and near-real-time. Used for special passes, history pulls and to catch anything the watch misses.

Sources NASA FIRMS area API

Coverage Global, from 2000 (MODIS) and 2012 (VIIRS); 375 m / 1 km pixels

Limits Cannot tell a strike from a brush fire or a flare by itself; routine flares, kilns and dumps are learned from FIRMS history (heat sources catalogue, 0.8.3), not from temperature yet. Misses short events between passes and fires under cloud.

Agents Gazda, Síofra

Benchmark BENCH-009

Aircraft and ship tracksLive

Hand-started follows of named aircraft and vessels, with a track archive of closed and aborted tracks.

Sources adsb.lol, adsb.fi, airplanes.live, aisstream.io

Limits Free ADS-B feeds have no Arctic coverage; terrestrial AIS ends offshore and misses most warships.

See it →

Ship and aircraft counts with namesTesting

Ships and aircraft counted on satellite images of six pilot bases, named from transponders where they broadcast.

Sources Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, adsb.lol archive, aisstream.io harbour watch

Coverage Halifax, Esquimalt, Norfolk, Barksdale, Winnipeg, Trenton

Limits Parked military aircraft and many warships do not transmit, so most counted objects stay unnamed.

Journalist-first leadsPaused

New leads go to journalists with an RWI account 24 hours before the public; tested on SITREPs 014–015.

Limits Paused until 2 Nov 2026; leads publish at once meanwhile.

Western Libya landing watchLive

Daily check for military or state aircraft landing at Al-Watiya, Misrata, Mitiga, Tripoli, Zuwara and Zintan.

Sources adsb.lol daily archive

Hindcasts — reconstructing past eventsLive

Everything for a place and past window — optical, radar, Landsat, MODIS, weather, fire, night lights, activity heatmaps — e.g. Al-Watiya in December 2015.

Sources Sentinel-2 (from 2015), Landsat, MODIS, ERA5, NASA FIRMS, Black Marble, Strava heatmap

A picture for every findingLive

An annotated satellite plate (optical and radar) for each detection, site, flight or night-lights flag in a report.

Sources Sentinel-2, Sentinel-1, Black Marble

Coverage Any point on Earth

Night lights and blackoutsLive

Nightly brightness per site, flagging blackouts and surges.

Sources NASA Black Marble VNP46A1 / VNP46A2

Coverage Conflict sites and bases; nightly, ~1 day behind (A2 moonlight-corrected, ~7 days behind)

Limits Cloud, moonlight, snow and aurora affect readings.

See it →

Live military flights near sitesLive

Military-flagged aircraft within 15 km of watched sites, sampled through the day.

Sources adsb.lol military feed

Limits Only aircraft broadcasting ADS-B; no coverage in the Arctic or northern Alberta.

See it →

Flight archive scansLive

Every aircraft near a point, a region or a base on any past day, or the whole-day route of named aircraft — e.g. the Wainwright casualty airlift, Al-Watiya landings.

Sources adsb.lol daily archive

Coverage Global where community receivers exist; from early 2024

Limits Low-level flights fade near the ground; aircraft with transponders off are invisible.

See it →

Dark shipsLive

Ships on radar images with no AIS signal nearby.

Sources Sentinel-1, aisstream.io

Limits Most radar ships fall where we have no AIS coverage, so "dark" is rare and unconfirmed.

See it →

Push alertsLive

Fire flags, night-lights flags, landings and detections pushed to a phone.

Sources ntfy

Wilco Watch (DOGINT)Live

Daily satellite look at Killarney to the Beltline, Calgary, with an automated read.

Sources Sentinel-2, Sentinel-1, NASA FIRMS, weather

See it →

Fire watch on every watched siteLive

Every new heat detection inside a watched site, checked every three hours, with industrial sites flagged only when unusual.

Sources NASA FIRMS global 24 h files

Coverage 168 sites

Limits Sees only the last 24 hours; a late scheduled run can drop a detection (98% caught in BENCH-009).

See it →

Satellite imagery of every siteLive

Every Sentinel-2 optical and Sentinel-1 radar pass over each site, with cloud cover and a change score against a baseline.

Sources Copernicus Sentinel-2 L2A, Sentinel-1 RTC (Element 84, Planetary Computer)

Coverage 168 sites; optical every 2–5 days, radar every 6–12 days

Limits 10 m resolution. Cloud mask is SCL plus a baseline-relative brightness / haze / SWIR test (0.8.1; every Sentinel-2 reader since 0.8.3; cloud patches under 2–6 ha are left to SCL in ship and aircraft counts); thin haze over dark ground and cloud SCL half-catches can still leave some residual change.
